Today is January 3rd. It's a Wednesday. It's about 3 o'clock on the dot. The voice you hear right now is your honest and honorable host, engineer, and producer, Jordan BDJ Taylor. And this right here is episode 10 of the Big Drinking Show. Live from the studio. Got a special guest. He in the cut, though. He not he's not gonna be on the episode. I don't know. I might say some crazy shit, make him, make him pop up and say something. But we got my my good brother Warren G in the building. Y'all might know him as Warren G. This is no blast for me, but you know them niggas will blast for him. Shout out to my dog man, happy belated birthday. Had a good one. Had a good one. A lot of it's been a lot of mixiness. If you only listen to me on this podcast and you don't follow me on Instagram and or know me in real life, I I've been outside. I've been I've been roadrunning the last two weekends. So from DC to shit, Carol Park for the cookout. Shout out to the guys, shout out to the six minute men or my brothers to go and drag and getting caught up in shenanigans to cook out at the crib for one birthday, the the shenanigans in DC the weekend before, so on and so forth. I'm gonna I'm gonna have to chill and take a break for the next couple weeks of the summertime, just so that my mind, my body, and my pockets can be where they need to be. But how y'all doing? How y'all feeling, man? Outside of all the mixiness and all the fun adventures, I I got some milestones. I got some shit to talk. This right here is episode 10 of the Big Dream Show. And it might not mean a lot to y'all, but episode 10, 10 episodes in a row, not missing a week, consistently through ups and downs, trials and tribulations, really even figuring out what this joint was gonna look like. I the first episode I dropped, I didn't even know what day I was gonna record and what day I was gonna drop on. So to be 10 episodes and and on top of that to have crossed over 500 downloads just overall. Y'all rocking with me, and I appreciate it. I'm grateful, I'm humbled, and I'm just excited to see how far I can take it for real. Cause shit, I remember when it was one download and one episode, I remember it was 20 downloads, 50 downloads, 100, 150, so on and so forth. So looking forward to seeing a thousand, two thousand, a million, a billion, so on and so forth, and just continuing to grow this thing and continue to do what I love. Also, in the words of Ray J, shout out to my gay niggas. Happy Pride Month to everybody. We got love for everybody here at the Big Dream Show. I don't believe in freedom, and freedom can encompass all shapes, sizes, and forms of people that want to subscribe to it. And yeah. And uh Big Dreams is is a philosophy that you should be able to pick up and take with you no matter what it be. My dreams might look different than yours, but we all dreaming out this motherfucker together, so so I support it. I also want to kick it off before we get into the ground rules. I just want to say RP the Cyrus Carmack Belton, the young man who was who was murdered after stealing from a convenience store. I want to say it was in Atlanta, but don't quote me on that exactly. But yeah, man, just another example of what we talk about a lot of the price, what's the price on a black man's life, you know what I mean? If your life is worth a bottle of juice or some water, or in the case of Michael Brown, some Rellos out the store, or in the case of Trayvon Martin, some Skittles in Arizona, that's that's the whole reason that people were so adamant in saying Black Lives Matter. That's the so whole reason people are so adamant in in marching and uplifting and making sure that voices are seen and different perspectives are seen, because we see time and time again, not just in this country, but all around the world, that the second that it's decided that whatever the value of the infraction is or whatever the value of the offense is, it's automatically gonna outweigh the value of a life. So R.P. to that young man, R. Peter Cyrus. It's unfortunate because whenever we had these conversations, I don't know about you, but I know for me a lot of names come to mind from uh uh Breonna Taylor to uh Corinne Gangs to what we already talked about, Trayvon Martin, already talked about Mike Brown, uh, Eric Garner, shit, fucking Freddie Gray. It it's just it's just go on it go on and on and on. And it's sad that a lot of us can recall these people the same way we can recall like athletes and movie stars. Like it's like a different section of your brain, just straight categorized around these are niggas that got killed by the police or got killed on some bullshit. So RP, man. We're gonna talk further, but you know, it's up to all of us to do whatever we can. And also understand, I I worked for a liberatory organization for the better part of the last decade. So I'm very clear that we all gotta roll towards making sure that we make each other's lives better. We all gotta roll towards making sure that the plight of the black person is different for the future. And it all looks different. It might be you, the motherfucker that's out there in the street rallying the troops, getting people fired up, getting people marching. It might be the person, you the person in City Hall, talking to the mayor and the elected officials. It might be that you are the elected official. It might be that you the motherfucker that makes sure that everybody got bail money for when they go down to the protest. You might be the person like me that's sitting here and articulating what they're seeing and articulating what they feel and that might be the spot for someone else to do something. So I just say all that to say we all got a part to play when it comes to trying to change the conditions of our people. I'm not just gonna say of this country, but we all got a part to play when it can comes to trying to change the position of our people. So it's up to us to do whatever that part is, to find whatever skill, talent, gift, shit you good at the same way. I think last episode with Jeff, and shout out to Jeffrey, uh Jeffrey Holmes, episode nine, we talked a lot about money, financial literacy, just some some real basic and practical advice. But we talked about like finding a hustle, finding a thing. And the same way that you want to find a thing to be an entrepreneur, or you want to find a thing to get a little extra dollars in there. We also gotta find a thing that's gonna make sure that people feel safe, make sure that people feel comfortable, make sure that people feel secure, make sure that people feel protected, feel energized, whatever it may be. It's up to us to really be our best in this time and this moment. But like I said, we gonna get into it. It's a lot of a lot of shit happened to pop off between last week and this week. I don't know if it just was because last week I wasn't talking about topical shit. It was more like an evergreen episode, so now all the topics kind of pushed up, or whatever it may be, but y'all know how we do. So, if you're new here, we about to go into the ground rules, you know the spill. If you've been here before, you can fast forward the next 45 seconds. I know some of y'all are laughing because literally every week I get on here and say by the next episode I'm gonna have it recorded. And for whatever reason, from Wednesday to Wednesday, Thursday to Thursday, I do not sit down and record these joints. So, y'all gotta bear with me, being out of breath and all that other shit, but ground rules, let's get into it. Rule number one these thoughts are strictly my own and do not reflect the views of any family, friends, partners, affiliates, or associates or guests, former or future, former present or future. And you heard BD say some shit, BD say that shit, and he said that shit with his chest. Don't go around to my mother, don't go around to my employer, don't go around to my homies, my own girl, my lady, don't run to nobody and say no shit that I said, because I stand on the shit that I say, and it's strictly me. Now, if you put if you pull my car and the motherfucker happened to agree with me, that's a different story. But we not talking about that right now. Just for all intents and purposes, this is all me. If it's not clear by now, rule number two is we use vocal language. I use bad words. I'm a cusser, I come from a long line of cussers, my daddy a cusser, my mother a cusser, grandmother's on both sides, they was cussers. It it just is what it is. I'ma say some bad words. So if you are in a place where that type of language is frowned upon, if you got the shit planned on a Bluetooth speaker, or I don't know, maybe you're a motherfucker in undergrad and you hit the showers and want to listen to a podcast. This probably not the one to play around everybody, unless they cool with that kind of shit, but yeah, just a warning there, uh a good old parental advisory, explicit language warning like we used to get on the on the CDs back in the G. Number three, follow me. Not in the literal sense of IG or Facebook or none of that shit, but literally my brain goes from point A to point B to point C to point B. It goes all over the place. And we live in an era where you don't really have to pay attention in the same kind of way. You can be doing a whole bunch of different things, multitasking, doing the dishes, talking on the phone, texting, playing the game, on the laptop, whatever it may be. All I ask is that if you got this program on, you give it most of your attention. Because if you're not paying attention, you won't get lost. That's just the way my brain goes. It's a million miles per hour. And I got the I got a McDonald's coke in my hand. So y'all know that's that pure run cut. So I'm when this shit starts kicking in, I'm really gonna be talking fast. So please follow me. Please pay attention. Give me the same respect that you would want if you was in a hot ass studio talking for an hour, saying some real shit. But on that note, number four, tell me if I'm tripping. I'm human just like y'all. I'm no better than any other person. I'm very accessible for now until I go Hollywood and switch up. But for now, if I say something that's out of line, out of pocket, you can DM me, you can mention me, just get in contact with me. Or if it's just something you don't agree with, if I'm tripping, if I'm out of pocket, like please pull my card. I say it time and time again, but that's how motherfuckers get washed, that's how motherfuckers get arrogant, that's how they get out of touch with reality, because they don't got nobody to check them, they don't got nobody to tell them they tripping, they don't got nobody to tell them that they not doing the right thing, not dressing the right way, that they on some bullshit. So in an effort to keep me from becoming the wash motherfuckers that I fear, please let me know if I'm tripping. Number five, and we almost done, help this thing grow. If you like me as a person, if you like what I'm doing, if you like this program, like, rate, subscribe, review, post it, let niggas know you listening to it. Screen can screenshot it. A shout out my homie Mary is one of the things he did, I think episode one, he took a picture of actually his car, like the the what the fuck is it called? The infotainment system, Apple Play, that's what it's called. The Apple play in his car with the podcast actually on it. So that was cool. So any kind of shit like that, if you tag me, I'm gonna repost it, I'm gonna share it. But that type of thing, man. That type of thing. Word of mouth is always gonna be the the biggest way to get people engaged in something. And I'm not just saying that an anecdotally, like I'm really a marketing student, I'm getting my MBA. And one of the things we learn in marketing class, like literally in graduate level marketing class, is that somebody endorsing something or somebody that you got a personal relationship telling you that something is good is always going to yield a better return than however much marketing you do, however many advertisers you make, billboards. So right now I'm I'm humble. I'm not really going too crazy on the marketing. I will, but my main goal was to make sure that this product right here, this audio product, was the best that it could be before I started moving into okay, well, how do I do video? How do I switch up the marketing? Because all them things take time and all them things take effort. And like I said from the jump of this episode, I'm a one-man show. So yeah, just making sure that all that is tight, is is definitely a process for the long term. Last but not least, very important, do your research. Anything that I say, anything that a guest says, please don't let it be the end all be all of the information you know about whatever subject or topic it is. While I do try to stay informed and I do try to speak with a level of what's the word I'm looking for? I try to speak with a level of articulation and a level of like I'm not just bullshitting and pulling something on my ass. And I will tell you if I'm bullshitting too, don't let it be the end all be all. Me and my man Gator, shout out to Gator, but we used to be geeking because I'd be like, yo, you realize like for everything that exists, as somebody that dedicated their life to studying that shit and learned everything about it. Like flowers, you could pick up a book about flowers and some motherfucker that spent 40 years learning about every detail of a flower. Real specific example, but I just say that to say it's a lot of shit that I'm not gonna be able to cover or I might not know about. So always go deeper into it in whatever way makes sense. Alright, that was fun. Always, always fucking fun going through the ground rules. Let's get it kicked off. Let's talk about this war in Iran. It's gonna be it's gonna be brief. When I when I add this topic to the list, it was seeming that we were moving towards a ceasefire, another ceasefire in the war in Iran. As of this recording, that seems to not be happening. I saw President Trump say something that my Labor Day, he hopes that the Strait of Hermoose will be open and that everything will be settled. And I was tripping, I was like, maybe he meant Memorial Day. But nah, he straight said Labor Day, which for me is crazy. It's crazy to imagine the shit going on through the summer. Like summer just started and yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's crazy. It's crazy. As always, prayers to the to the folks involved over there. I also saw something I want to say it was on it was either AP or BBC. It was BBC News. Like Israeli strikes kill nine in Lebanon as Hezbollah fires rockets over the border. So they're still going strong over there in the Middle East. Also, it seems that things are starting to pick up with the attacks that Russia is doing on Ukraine. Oh, actually, nah, it says Ukrainian drones hit St. Petersburg. So shit. It looked like they really going back and forth still. So the world is still on fire, more or less. I was hoping to be able to come in here and talk some good news about the war being over or there being a ceasefire, but nah, they still getting in there. It's still getting in there. Backstayside though. I don't know if y'all saw this. So there was a big festival, big music festival planned for to celebrate the 250th birthday of America. It was called Freedom 250. Had a lineup with a whole bunch of people. Let's see. Let me see if I can pull it up real quick. I know that floor rider was on there and he dropped out. Young MC. I don't know if y'all know Young MC. If my pops is listening or my mom is listening, or anybody in the generation, y'all know Young MC. He had Just Bust a Move. One of them old school rap songs from the 80s. Just bust a move. The sample was famous too. That you want it. So yeah, y'all, y'all would know it if you heard it. Morris Day. Millie Vanilli, The Commodores, Martina McBride, Bret Michaels. And like I say, I know Flowrider was supposed to be in it. The Millie Vanilli shit is crazy to me, because one of them one of them niggas died, and all of a sudden they was famous for lip singing, so I don't even I don't really understand that one. It looked like Flowrider and Vanilla Ice are still gonna perform based off of this article I'm reading, but even still, I can't I can't call it, but yeah, man, just an L. Just an L. It's interesting to me that like It's like do you get sick of taking L's? I remember last year they had the big ass parade that nobody went to with the tanks in the street. Um I know they about to have the UFC fight in the middle of the White House lawn. So just be tripping me out, bro. I'm not gonna lie to y'all. It doesn't and sing it surreal to be it to be having both conversations. And it's also, to me, a reflection on the media that we have to where like these aren't conversations that should have equal equal weight, especially not for the president. The president shouldn't be more focused on a fucking music festival than focused on on gaining peace or focused on the cost of living, not going up for American citizens and all the other shit that's going on. But this is the world that we live in, these are times we live in. And luckily for y'all and lucky for me, we got the space where I can come and kind of clear my mind about a lot of this shit, because it really don't be making sense. What's a step you can do though? What's something you can add? But if you don't like the current political climate, if you don't like shit that's going on, uh, at least for my folks who are listening in Maryland, which I know is a lot of you early voting is gonna start next week. Early voting is gonna be June 11th through June 18th, beginning at 7 a.m., ending at 8 p.m. So make y'all voices heard, man. We talk a lot about shit we don't like. We talk a lot about shit being fucked up by when it's an opportunity, like voting next week, or you know, city council meetings, county council meetings, neighborhood meetings, whatever it may be. When it comes to those times, we gotta also show up for that too. Um when I was in school, undergrad at College Park, I'm sorry, University of Maryland, College Park, I'd be forgetting a lot of people from Maryland, but everybody not, so let me make sure I'm clear. But I took a class and it was called Digital Media and Democracy. And this class was about how does democracy intercept with digital media. And at the time it's like 2015, 2016, so the landscape is a different than what we see today, but not super duper different. But there was this idea called slactivism. And this is one of like the only things I remember from this class still to this day. But slactivism was like the idea that people think because they post something on the internet or they say something about something, that that counts the same way as actively working towards creating a change or a solution. So I think around this time it was when there was a shooting in Paris or a bombing in Paris, some shit like that, and a lot of people were changing their Facebook profile pictures to the Paris flag, or it's like a filter with the Paris flag over your profile picture. If you old as shit, you remember this. But the point that my professor was making was that changing your profile picture to that, or making it be years down the line a Ukrainian flag or whatever the fuck, changing your profile picture, reposting some shit is not an actual substitute for trying to make change. It's not an actual substitute for doing the work. I think a lot of times we get them concepts confused. Because I can tweet about shit I don't like all day, I can post on Instagram I don't like about shit I don't like all day. I can go on fucking live right now and bomb on everybody and everything. But if that's not in service of a larger goal or in service of a larger agenda, or if that's the full extent of the shit I'm doing, then shit not gonna change. So that's why I'm stressing the early voting shit. That's why I talk about the politics shit. That's why I'm trying to on the back end of these episodes, I do shout out to the homies, because it's those are people doing work or organizations doing work. And back to the conversation at the beginning about Cyrus, it's all about us and this motherfucker together. I don't want it to be a situation where somebody get me and it's a go find me to try to pay for my funeral. Or niggas like, oh boo hoo, Jordan did this and everything is gone with me. Like, nah. I want us to get to it now. Socially, politically, economically, fucking mental health, physical health, everything's just optimized and everything straight. So that's why I really that's why this shit really is important. So make sure y'all early vote if y'all are registered, if y'all need to switch it up. Like, I still need to. Make sure you switch it up. Cause if you're not Democrat or Republican, you can't vote in in like non-presidential elections and shit. So I still gotta switch my shit over to Democrat so I can be able to vote. But yeah. Alright. That was the heavy shit. Let's talk about the fun shit. Let's keep it pushing. Jay-Z was at the Roost picnic last Saturday, and he did a freestyle where he addressed some of his enemies. Now, this is something I predicted. I predicted at the Jay-Z talk. I mean Jay-Z, at the Drake talked, all that shit about Jay-Z. Saying the jiggers up, saying, Fuck the dinner, I take the 500k, saying you niggas run the Jay-Z ho for a second opinion, so on and so forth. I was like, oh yeah, this nigga, Jay-Z about to say something. And respond he did. He said such quotable things as Y'all looked up the hove, I never looked up to y'all. It's gonna cost a B to say my name in reference to Drake with the B's on the table. And he said some other sick shit. Yeah, he said something about Dame Dash teeth falling out his mouth. As expected, Dame Dash has just responded during an interview with the Auto Dialogue. Dame Dash's response was hilarious. He said that nigga Jay-Z look wash. I don't even know why he was. He was like, if he was rapping like that back when we was coming up, I never would have signed a nigga. It was just, it was, it was it was quality hate, yo. I'm not gonna lie. We say a lot of shit about Dame Dash. We talk a lot of shit about Dame Dash. And a lot of it is justified, don't get me wrong. But when it comes to shit talking, when it comes to like really hating, oh no, he he's a one-on-one. He won a ghost. He never gonna lose that fastball. So yeah, man, it it really was funny. He said Jay-Z need to cut that dumbass shit off his head and put the Yankee cap on for his New York shows. Really a masterclass. Sauz Walker also also popped up because there are allegations that Drake was mentioning him in If the Truth Fits off of Scary I was 3 and or what song they say? Broken Bridges. They say he was talking about him as well as ASAP Rocky. So we'll see. We'll see. Sauce Walker also dropped the song. If y'all not familiar with him, he's a Houston rapper, won half of the sauce twins. Actually, funny story. The last time that me and some of my affiliates, I ain't gonna put no names out there, but the last time that me and some of my affiliates were in Houston, actually, we were in a gentleman's club, an an upscale, an upscale place, around two or three in the morning, you know, more them hours when you start to get spent a little bit. We left we left camp. If y'all know, y'all know we left camp, went to the gentleman's club. We in there and around 3, 3 30, a whole bunch of niggas walk in with a whole bunch of duffel bags. And I'm like, yo, that nigga look familiar. And like clockwork, the DJ hit the mic and say, Yo, we got sauce walking in the building. And I'm like, Oh, comrades, we need Leave. It's time to go. That's rule of thumb number one. When I'm in the buildings with the with the niggas who songs, I only sing the lyrics and don't live their life. If I'm in a spot with them, it's time to go. Cause I'm somewhere I don't need to be, at an hour I don't need to be outside. So shout out shout out to Mr. Walker. I hope that you are not I hope that you're exaggerating about some of the claims that you are are making or have made. It's really a a fortunate situation. If it is, does happen to be true, because it means that you you're really out here pimping and you're not just rapping about pimping. Also, I don't really know about the alibi of it's cool that Drake fucked my fucked my baby mother because I was pimping her. I already know about that one. I don't know. I'm not a pimp though. I'm a I'm a square. I'm a civilian. So I don't I don't know if that holds up like to street logic and street rhetoric. But I know I would I would feel the way. He also had the video where he popped up in the in the the red drop top with the OVO aisle on the on the head wrestle. I don't know. I'm excited to see how summer goes, I guess. Also, shout out to Lucky. Lucky dropped the same time as Drake. Chicago legend, for sure. But I'm interested to see how the sit how the summer goes man, because Drake and Jay-Z really got niggas in a in a tizzy right now, man. Between between Drake taking shots at everybody. I'm sorry, Ice. Between Iceman taking shots at everybody, and then Jay-Z coming out, like, nah, fuck y'all niggas. I'm still here. And then, you know, Jay-Z has the much anticipated true show series coming up in New York where he'll be doing reasonable doubt and the blueprint. It's just interesting times. It's interesting times. So we'll see how all this, how all this develops. Hopefully it just stays on wax. And niggas don't get into no kind of street beasts. Hopefully no one's like family, friends, loved ones are harmed in the process. And shout out to Dang Dash one more time. If y'all ain't heard that, y'all need to actually go listen to that. I might, I don't know. It depends on how I'm feeling. I might I might edit I might edit that Dang Dash clip on the back, and I might not. But yeah, shout out to hip hop. We back, baby. We back. Ain't nothing better for hip hop than some good beef and some disrespect. Alright, let's switch gears. So tonight, right? Tonight is gonna be game one of the Spurs and the Knicks in the in the finals, the NBA finals. And I'm excited. Not just because I'm a I'm a longtime Sp Spurs fan. I picked up my fandom around two years ago. Before they got Wimby, though. I won't put that put that out there. But I'm a Spurs fan now. So it's exciting to leave the trenches of Chicago of the Bulls and really be locked in on a winning franchise. That's exciting for me. But I really also I think the Knicks got the best fan base in the NBA. Arguably, they might got the best fan base in sports. I'm sure that somebody would be willing to debate that with me. I don't really care to debate. I'm just a man talking on a podcast, but yeah, man. Nick Spurs is about to be crazy. The way that the city of New York turns up when the Knicks are good, it's beautiful. And they ain't won a championship in what 50 something years? So it's it's a lot of riding on this. Also, I'm interested to see like if they do bring a home, what do the conversations about Carl Anthony Towns and Jalen Brunson look like? Where are they ranking the all-time Knicks? Where are they ranking the all-time? Not even all-time. Where they ranking the current pound for pound best players. And then on the other side, you got motherfucking Victor Wimbenyama, who is on a legendary ascent. A legendary ascent, year three, already in the finals. 7-6, can't teach that, but still will pop a three. It's it's different. I enjoy watching him play a lot because it kind of breaks my brain. It doesn't, it feels like y'all know them AI videos when they take somebody and put somebody else over them, and it's like they moving like the person that they're replacing, but you see the motherfucker that they photoshopped in there. That's how I feel watching Wimby play to me. It feels like he shouldn't, his proportions don't make sense. So yeah, really excited about this series. My bias, my bias take is that the Spurs are going to win it. I think Spurs in I'ma say seven. Just because I I feel like some shenanigans will be afoot. I also saw the NBA script that was allegedly in the in the Epstein files. If y'all don't know that, allegedly, this might be fake. This is why I said do your research on the front end. But apparently when they went through all Jeffrey Epstein shit, he had within like all his emails was like an NBA script that had all the winners to the to the finals. I think it started the year with it was either Go Estate or the year that the Raptors went with Kawhi. But yeah, everything after that, they said that it was mapped out and that this year was the last year and it was gonna be the New York Knicks. We'll see. We'll see. Also, shout out to the Slash Bros, man. Shout to the Slash Bros. We It's nice, it's nice rooting for a team that's not us, bro. It's really nice rooting for a team that you can trust. And this is one of my favorite times of the year. I I love just popping out with whoever. Go watch, go catch a finals game, politic. It used to be it used to be that this would be the time when you would just be getting home from college. So you get to catch up with all your friends, go to the bar, RP Bill Bateman's, get some drinks, some cookies, some just have a good time, man. So if you're not a Spurs fan or a Knicks fan, I encourage you to just have a good time. Enjoy this shit. And you're a Spurs fan, hey man, just know this one of many. And if you're a Knicks fan, wanna lose, man. Y'all y'all need to y'all need to not fuck the city up. Wanna lose, just don't fuck the city up. But I'm excited. I should be out there soon. I should be out there next week. Hopefully the series is still going. I can really get the get the vibe. You feel me? We see y'all niggas giving it up. Yeah, man. Shout out to the NBA. Fuck Adam Silver though. That's that's still here. Especially in the NFL. We had some major, major trades take place. Future Hall of Famer for the Cleveland Browns, Myles Garrett, which traded to the LA Rams for Jared Verse, who's talented in his old right, but Miles Garrett is a one-on-one kind of player. I'm happy to see him go. I'm happy that I don't gotta worry about lining up left tackles and right tackles against Miles Garrett because he was he was really a one-man team for the Browns a lot of times. Like I seen, yeah, I seen him do shit that you kind of only see on video games. Where it's like just the the amount of size he would get sacks, the amount of pressure he would get. Aaron Donald may be unretiring to join the Rams. So it seemed like they're building a super team. It seemed like Seattle got that Super Bowl last year. Their rival Seattle won a Super Bowl. The Rams were like, we don't like that. We already go all in to win the Super Bowl every year, but now we about to go super all in. So excited to see how that works out. Also had another big trade. This one was kind of speculated about for the last couple months. I heard some people say it was gonna happen in April. I heard some people say it was gonna happen in March. So but AJ Brown, the disgruntled wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles, has been traded to the New England Patriots, where he will reunite with his former head coach Mike Vrabel. Patriots that have defended AFC champions and got an upgrade at receiver. They got him and they got Romeo Dobbs from the Packers, who he's no slouch. I don't, he's not a AJ Brown, you feel me? But Romeo Dobbs is definitely a solid receiver. So the Drake may he Drake may should have some fun next year. There's a little bit of mess around this story. I don't want to get too TMZ or too much into it, but allegedly Brown had a fallen out with his quarterback, Jalen Hurts, as well as defensive player Hassan Redick. The long and the short of it is that Hassan Reddick and AJ Brown were they was on their R. Kelly and Usher. They was messing with the same girl. Brown went to Hurts, like, yo, this fucked up. Like, can you believe Hassan doing this to me? Hurts told him, like, nigga, to be honest with you, I'm just trying to win football games. I ain't really worried about that love and hip-hop shit y'all got going on. And then from there, it just never was the same. They said, they say this happened around week four of last season. I mean you think about it. So Hassan Reddick, he was a very good player for the for the Philadelphia Eagles, and then they seemingly traded him out of nowhere to the New York Jets. And I remember at the time thinking like, why'd they just trade him? Apparently now we know. Apparently we know the reason why they traded him. Uh uh. Yeah, there also were some rumblings that the disconnect that was seen on the field between AJ Brown and Jalen Hurts may have been intentional as a way for AJ Brown to sabotage Jalen Hurts, get him traded, get him out of there. Get him fucking traded. He's trying to get that man traded by playing like shit. So Yeah, I don't I don't know where to go with that one. You know what I mean? I don't know where to go with that one, because I think AJ Brown's gonna hoop for the Patriots. I think AJ Brown's gonna I think AJ Brown's gonna do his thing. But it's also a case of Jalen Hurts really got the he really got the microscope on him. Because if the if the reports are true that they are looking, that the front officers looking for a reason to get rid of him, they looking for a reason to not have to pay him his contract in the same kind of way, so on and so forth. Then losing one of your best receivers, Devontae Smith is a is a great receiver in his own right, but AJ Brown's a dog. So losing losing a guy like that, we'll see. It makes it a lot harder. And you all you got a running back who's one year older, no matter how great he is, it makes it a lot harder to capture that same level of success. So I'm interested to see how it all plays out. Alright. Now something completely unrelated to all that shit I just was talking about. Y'all seen this motherfucker with the what's that shit called? The Neuralink chip in his brain? He just be walking around talking to people. He was at like a convention or something. He a bald headed, he a bald headed black fella. Got a scar on his, like above his eye type shit, like along his sideburn. And he just was talking to people about the the glory and blessings of Neuralink. He was saying how it'll be real good for people who have like spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, so on and so forth. And I get that part. I understand that. I can see it being I can see it. I want to say this in a way, but I don't want y'all to take it fucked up. But I'm gonna just say it anyway. We finally here. If you have no other options, I can see why it would make sense to put a chip in your brain. But if you just a regular motherfucker, you feel me? Like you go to work, you go to the gym, you socialize, you do whatever you do, then I don't see no reason for you to get the chip in your brain. Now I know what people are saying, they'll give you the strength of a supercomputer, you'll be able to look things up, think instantly, telepathically, all this other, all this other extra shit. And I'll just be the old head, because I don't want no chip in my brain, bro. I'm not going. I promise you, I'm not going, especially when the chip is controlled by Elon Musk Corporation. They got a kill switch in them Teslas to shut down them Teslas. So you don't think they would have a kill switch in a chip that's in your brain? Even on a on a simpler level than that, bro, you want to give an Elon Musk backed organization access to your brain? I couldn't do it. I couldn't do it. I can't even fathom. I just I don't I just don't trust it, bro. I don't trust it. I don't Yeah. So y'all, I would like to hear from y'all on that. Would you get the neuralic chip in your brain? Assuming that you haven't had like a dehabilitating brain injury or you're not suffering some for some kind of chronic disease or no crazy shit like that. Would you get the chip in your brain? Cause I'm not. I'm not, I don't even fully trust the self-driving cars yet, to be honest with you. Crazy times we live in. Crazy times we live in. We got people getting chips in their brain. And motherfuckers can't even find jobs, bro. I don't Yeah, it just be it be blowing my mind. But please, please go search that out. It's creepy, bro. Y'all gotta watch it. It's really it's really creepy. Like even his like his demeanor, bro. It was like some Stepford Wives type of mind control type shit. Like they asked him a question, he takes two seconds and they respond, but he don't got no He had no like personality, he ain't had no like affect. He just was he was there, but he didn't seem like he was there, so yeah. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know nothing about it. Actually, fuck that guy. Hold your head this week. Hold your head, hold your head, hold your head. Hold your head the the OG El Grande Americano. This is for my wrestling fans. It's been a minute, but I I gotta give y'all something. We may have gotten the match of the year last weekend on AAA. You can watch it on YouTube for free. Down in Mexico, they had El Grande Americano versus the original El Grande Americano. It's a long story, but just know these two mad these two wrestlers have been. I can't say mask. That's one of the words I can't say. These two mass men, I'm gonna just say mass men, because I can't say mad. I can't I can't make an SK sound for some reason. I don't know. We all got shit with us, but these two guys have been wearing been wearing masks and shit. Battling out over who's the real one. And this is the culmination of a like six to eight month story over that where one was playing the character, then he got hurt, then the other guy started playing the character, and then one guy that got hurt came back, they had to battle over the title, and it's been A man, it's it's just good old wrestling shit. It's it's stupid, it's simple, it makes sense, and the match is good. It ain't really much more you can ask for. I think a lot of times with not just wrestling, but in all these entertainment mediums and shit that we use as quote unquote escapes from the shit that bother us, we be super critical on the motherfuckers. It's like you try, you say you trying to relax, but you watching the show and you hating on that motherfucker for 45 minutes, and now you still upset for all your shit from the workday and you mad at the show. So if you want some old school, just good wrestling shit, good turn your brain off and just enjoy a story between good and evil, y'all go check out that last triple A free pay-per-view on YouTube, that OG El Grande Americano versus El Grande Americano. Mr. Mask versus Mask Match series, so the loser had to take their mask off. Yeah, good shit. Good shit. So to the homies RIP, it's a it's a shout out to R.I.P. R.I.P. to Pebo Bryson. Pebo Bryson was a legendary, like a choir storm legend, RB, RB cat, just one of the voices that I don't know for y'all, but it takes me back to like them them WKYS and Magic 95.9, like that type of shit, riding in the car, hearing the choir storm with some nigga with a deep ass voice or some woman talking all essential, like welcome to the Quiet Storm. Like all that type of shit. So RP to Peebo, man. My favorite Peebo Bryson song is Feel the Fire. He really went for 40 on that joint. Maybe 50, maybe 60, maybe 70. But it's a it's a great song. Quiet Storm Essential. Also with Sample and uh Damn, was it Mustard? It's even Mustard or Metro, but it's the song with ASAP Rocky and Takeoff that came out after Takeoff passed away. Where Takeoff had a crazy voice. I think it's also called Feel the Fire or Feel Feel some shit. I don't know. But if you know, you know. But RP the people Bryson. Also this week want to shout out to the homies. I want to give a shout out to Is God Is. Yeah, me and my mom saw that joint on Sunday, and that that was a good ass movie. It was a good ass movie. It's the movie with the two twins. They're two black twins, two black girls. Their mother's dying. Their mother's Vivica A. Fox. The father is Sterling K. Brown. And she's like, I want you. She's like, I'm dying, but I want y'all to kill y'all further. Like, that's that's the mission. So the whole mission is them trying to find him, track him down, and then get revenge for their mother before she dies. Real good movie, bro. Like, on a basic level, it's tough because you got your action on some like Tarantino shit. You got action, you got gore, you got good music. But on a on a deeper level, it's really a statement about how a poor father who doesn't deal with the with his sins, doesn't deal with the shit that is fucking him up, how he then imparts that on the the women that he chooses to be with, as well as the kids that he makes. So it's real good, bro. It's real good. Also, shout out to all the other homies. We in a a black renaissance of movies. We had been for a while on movies and TV. But some things on my list that I gotta see. And if y'all seen them, then shout out to y'all. I gotta see I love boosters. I gotta see they will kill you. And I gotta see one spoonful of chocolate. One spoonful of chocolate is the riser joint based off Rayquar's purple tape. They will kill you is the joint with uh Zazie Beats, Zazie Beats, where she just drilling shit. And I love boosters is the new Kiki Palmer joint. And I think Lake Stanfield is in it too, if I'm not mistaken, but yeah. A lot of a lot of good, a lot of good work out right now. So we gotta make sure we support these black films, these black filmmakers. Also, shout out to not not right now, but Windem Days is another example. Sinners is another example. We getting a diverse array of black stories, and I'm so grateful for that. I'm so grateful that everything ain't just some like dating relationship drama type of shit, or some boys in the hood, nigga snugging, shooting, killing type shit. Like, it really is refreshing to be able to have different genre films and different things centering black people in our experiences. So make sure y'all go out and support that. Also, if y'all got any homies that make movies, or y'all got any homies that score movies, or y'all got any more if y'all got any homies, period, make sure you support them niggas, bro. You don't know what's your little DM or what's your little mention or I seen you or I heard you, like you don't know how much that really can do to somebody's spirit, especially when we in thankless jobs and thankless careers, like yeah, it really makes a difference. So shout out to the homies there. Um, to close it out, we got a voicemail from from my good brother Books. He left a voicemail. Again, make sure y'all are banging that voicemail line. The link is directly in the episode description. If you leave a voicemail, it will get played on air. So we about to move in the voices voices, voices, book mail. We about to move into books voicemail and then wrap it up.

SPEAKER_01

You, BD, my guy. Listen, differences aside, I I I'm not gonna fight you on the RB stuff no more. You know what I mean? The fact that you want to eat RB's three times a month, that's your business. The fact that we was in Chicago, one of the greatest food cities in the country, and you was demanding we go to McDonald's to get a grimace shake, that's your business. The fact that you've been trying to put me on yellow wolf for 10 years, that's your business. I wanted to come on and ask something separate, completely uh unrelated, based on the topic you and your pops were talking about. Do you feel like there's anything in sports, like any sport you watch, that is better now than it was 10 years ago? Like any any aspect really. And it's not to start a whole errors or better conversation, but I don't know, it's a thought of half. Love you, bro.

SPEAKER_00

So first things first, folks, I love you too. And you're a fucking liar. Yeah. Yeah, and you're a fucking liar. I've never even been in Chicago with you, first of all. Second of all, you should tell the people, instead of spreading lies about Arby's and McDonald's and Grimace Shakespeare, you should you should tell people that Eminem is your favorite rapper. And that's not a lie. That's the sick part. That's not a lie. Also, shout out my pops. If y'all didn't already go back and listen to the episode featuring Big Ray, episode six, seven? I think episode seven. Episode seven, featuring Big Ray, Stunning Like My Daddy. Love that guy, man. Oh no, it might be episode eight. Fuck it. It's on there, bro. It's called Stun Like My Daddy. It's on there. But in terms of your question, though, brother, I would say WNBA has definitely gotten better in the last 10 years in terms of their marketing, in terms of their accessibility. So they up their games used to be at crazy times on crazy channels. Now they really are in prime time. And just their star power has gone crazy over the last 10 years. Because we've seen a lot of we've been able to follow the college game in a a better, more concise way. So a lot of these people that we're seeing in the WNBA now are women that we've seen prospering since they college days. So we got a different kind of attachment. Weirdly, in a way that we don't necessarily have in the same way for the men's game, because people don't stay at the same schools in the same kind of way, or they leave the they leave for the league earlier. So I would say WNBA. I would say MLB has gotten better with the addition of the pitch clock. And just thinking about how lit the how lit the the fucking championship was last year. Like, I don't remember sitting up to watch a game seven of an MLB game and really being invested in who wins. So MLB definitely has gotten better. I would say wrestling. M-ring quality and storyline-wise has gotten more consistent. It's starting to dip back down to inconsistency. But the fact that they moved a lot of their stuff to streaming, I would say is a win. They had the network, that was more than 10 years ago. I think that was around like 2011, 2012, when WWE came out with the network. But the way that they've been able to move from an accessibility standpoint is also something I think is cool. Being able to watch wrestling on Netflix on Mondays and all these other apps. And finally, I say the NFL. One thing I like about the NFL in the last 10 years, and it's minor, but I like that jersey number shit a lot. I like that you don't gotta be a wide receiver and only wear teens or 80s. I like that you can be a linebacker and you can be number five, some shit like that. Like I think that I think that's dope. I think that's dope. And it's also I always wondered why in the college game, Reggie Bush comes to mind, like as the the m the biggest example. He was number five and he made that number five famous, then switched over to number 25. And it's like I wonder how many how much money he would have made with that number five New Orleans Saints jersey. So those are just some of my thoughts. Like you my boy, you guys?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I was just saying say college, NIL, and deals and shit.

SPEAKER_00

I don't fuck with that. Yeah, because when I was when I was 18, 19, niggas ain't throwing me 500 racks. I am. Cause I work for the athletic department, so I know if they got NL and IL boosts, we probably would have got a little minimum wage boost or something. Hey, the voice y'all heard again, my brother 1G. What you got? Four leaf clover on your on your earring?

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

This nigga.

SPEAKER_01

Three-leaf clover, bro. Good luck, you know, with the profit.

SPEAKER_00

Too much, man. Too much. So, again, voicemail line. Make sure y'all hit that link in the bio. It will be read and listened to. If you don't remember nothing else, just remember that Books is a liar and BDJ is the truth. Shout out to everybody that I got to kick it with over the last couple weeks. Shout out to everybody showing love and support. Again, I don't take none of this shit for granted, bro. 500 people, or 500 times, it might not have been 500 people, but 500 times y'all made the conscious decision to press play on me talking my shit on this platform and me knowing what I love. So that's beautiful. That's gratification. That that just keeps me going. So until next time, man, it's your host, humbled, honored, and grateful, the great Bidinski.
